I like this a lot - it's clearly in the adorable Gurihiru style, but is also original and the kids exude more power through their posture and facial expressions. Really great
I loved this series growing up. Actually had all 52 comics, the anniversary issues, crossovers and other releases. It was a good series and I was sad to see it go. This picture is really well done and does the series proud.
I read a "Power Pack" special issue about sexual abuse in elementary school when I was 11 (I'm 21 now). I fell in love with the Power Pack instantly because they were there to help and give messages about serious issues happening among the younger generation and the world, like environmental pollution, gun violence, homelessness, parent deaths, drug abuse, runaways, kidnappings, bullies, murder, and missing children, to name a few. These things should never happen at all, and while the world ignores the majority of these issues, the Power Pack is there to make the message(s) clear. The special issue I read came out as copies for the class to read when we were reaching puberty, and sexual abuse was a major topic during that time. After we read it, we kept going through a "Socratic seminar" session (as just us kids, no teachers) to talk about what to do if this were to happen to us or anyone we knew. We found more issues of this famed group and learned they did more than raise awareness of sexual abuse; they fought against the many issues I just named above, and they made the message clear. Now, as I see this redone version of the Power Pack, they still fight those issues and have been rebooted for a younger audience; something I approve of because children these days need to know about these kinds of issues and how to help prevent these things from ever happening, thanks to the message and efforts that the Power Pack does. I love this drawing, by the way. I love the newly designed version of the Power Pack; I hated the 80s style that it originally had, although it does have that amazing nostalgic feeling. Great details on the Pack's costumes and powers.
Great work, you two! You know, as good as you where back then, you guys are AMAZING now. It's crazy cool to see how you and bakanekonei have both grown as artists over the past 4 years. I love that you've taken us along on this journey and I look forward to seeing what you come up with in the future.
