Mystique! ME-YOW she's looking great! I'm really loving this series and am enjoying the ones in particular which show a stark contrast between the character representation in the background and in the foreground. Of them all, there's probably the greatest contrast here. The Mystique in the background is quite obviously the movie Mystique (though the look was later brought over into the comics). I simply cannot imagine how much of a pain in the ass it was to draw all those scales on her skin. I get tired just thinking about it! In terms of the Mystique in the background, I also really think you successfully rendered her eyes as they appeared on film. However, I think she's totally outshone by the Mystique in the foreground. I just love her fierce expression. There's determination in her face. I'm also really feeling that outfit of hers! I've always felt that white looks so crisp in contrast to her skintone and that's why I think she looks best in white. I love the shirt especially the cut of the collar and the way it's clasped around her sides. It's really sexy. The pants are also great. As much as I love the skirt look for Mystique, I can't help but feel pants are a better option. She does a lot of physical movements in combat so it seems like the skirt would trip her up. That belt is something else. I love the studs and that skull is definitely something fierce. Skulls are not easy to draw but you sure make it look easy. Lastly, I want to give you props for the gun. Weapons are insanely hard to draw... guns especially! Let me tell you, that gun looks flawless. Great job!

all of the pieces we are doing we are calling them Legacies - the current costume/look up front with the background bust of the character in an iconic/classic costume/look.

thanks for all the compliments on this piece. mystique is a favorite character and i hardly have any pics of her in my gallery. i agree about hte white but i do like her in black too.

the scales weren't that hard to draw. i just called up a pic of her in the movie and went to town lol.
